Description:

Tapirs are difficult to capture on film as they are generally nocturnal.  This one was photographed at a zoo in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.  Shy, vegetarian and extremely good swimmers, the South Americna tapir is one of the largest land mammals in the Americas.
